High school football: East Hall beats Woodland behind huge performance from Vikings quarterback Clete Cooper

East Hall quarterback Clete Cooper completed 24 of 28 throws for 325 yards and two touchdowns, as the Vikings picked up their first win of the season, 34-28 over Woodland Friday night in Gainesville. Drew Highfield had two catches for 60 yards and a touchdown, while also blocking a punt and recovering it in the end zone for another score. 

Mon Prather had five catches for 85 yards and a touchdown. 

Also with a big game, Matthew Lott carried the ball five times for 65 yards and a touchdown. Mon Tabor rushed for 111 yards on 12 carries, including a 70-yard scoring run. 

For the night, East Hall gained 326 yards through the air and 200 rushing. 

Leading 28-20 in the fourth quarter, Prather had a 31-yard touchdown grab with four minutes left. Tabor scored on a 70-yard run in the first quarter, followed by Lott’s touchdown run from the 10. 

The Vikings led 21-0 at halftime.
