High school cross country: Crow paces North Hall boys to win at Mountain Invitational

North Hall's Devan Crow crosses the finish line with a winning time of 15:09 on Thursday at Unicoi State Park in Helen.

North Hall’s Devan Crow broke the meet record with a time of 15 minutes, 9 seconds to win the Mountain Invitational on Thursday at Unicoi State Park in Helen. 

With a field of 32 varsity teams, North Hall finished first, followed by Pace Academy, Dawson County and North Oconee, respectively. 

Also for the Trojans, Andrew Jones was fourth (15:58).

In the girls’ race, North Hall finished fourth. 

Individually in the boys race, Gainesville’s Miguel Lopez took fifth (16:04), while Chestatee’s Luke Gaddis was ninth (16:22).

The North Hall girls had two place in the top 20: Caylee Wagner was 15th (20:18) and Ella Randall Lee was 19th (20:48).

The Mountain Invitational drew 60 high school and middle school programs, and approximately 2,100 runners, according to North Hall coach Sam Borg.
