High school basketball scoreboard: Garcia's big night, Eddins' go-ahead basket lifts Chestatee girls to region basketball win

Christina Garcia finished with a team-high 18 points for the Chestatee High girls basketball team in a 55-53 edge of region foe Blessed Trinity on Friday in Roswell. Beth Eddins hit the go-ahead basket with one minute left in the game to seal the win for the Lady War Eagles (9-9, 4-2 Region 7-4A). Also in double-figures, Bowen Corley scored 15 points. 

Chestatee hosts Denmark at 7 p.m. next Friday in Gainesville.   

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 67, HABERSHAM CENTRAL 40: Sadie Roach led the Lady Elephants with 23 points in Mount Airy on Friday. Also for Gainesville (9-5, 1-0 Region 8-6A), Tija Blackwell scored 20 points, while Tia Shelton had 14. 

Gainesville girls will host Dacula at 7 p.m. today. 

LANIER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY GIRLS 41, GREATER GWINNETT CHRISTIAN 36: Madison Hughes finished with eight points in the fourth quarter and a team-high 10 points to lead the Lady Lightning to their first region win. Hollie Beussee chipped in nine points with six steals for Lanier Christian (7-6). 

Lanier Christian Academy will visit Praise Academy in Powder Springs at 5:30 p.m. next Friday.  

GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN ACADEMY GIRLS 69, EAST HALL 48: Maggie Griffin led the Lady Vikings (7-11, 1-4 Region 7-4A) with 16 points. Ivey Shadburn scored 10. 

East Hall will host Dawson County at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
