High school basketball scoreboard: A dominant first-quarter performance powered the Flowery Branch girls team to 62-47 win over Mill Creek

The Lady Falcons outscored Mill Creek 20-5 in the first quarter, and never looked back in their dominant 62-47 win. Caroline Wysocki led Flowery Branch (13-3, 4-0 Region 7-4A) with 18 points. 

Ashley Scott contributed 15 points, while Ashley Woodroffe and Ashlee Locke also both scored in double-digits with 14 points and 11 points respectively. 

Flowery Branch will be back in action on Tuesday when it takes on White County at home.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 58, GEORGE WALTON 15: Eliza Snyder had 18 points to go along with four rebounds and four steals. Jackie Allen scored 11 with six steals, while Maddy Towles had nine points and three boards. 

The Lady Lions (12-4, 1-0 Region 8-A) will go on the road to take on Tallulah Falls on Tuesday. 

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 74, GEORGE WALTON 68: Adam Cottrell led the way for the Lions, scoring 26 and grabbing five steals. Arturo Varela had 18 points, and KJ Millwood added seven with eight rebounds. 

Blake McIntyre had eight in limited minutes as he recovers from an illness. 

Lakeview Academy (10-5, 1-0 Region 8-A) will travel to Tallulah Falls Tuesday evening.

CHESTATEE BOYS 85, LANIER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 44: Ethan Popham led the War Eagles with 20 points and nine boards, going 6-for-7 from 3-point range on the night. Cam Gwyn added 10 points and nine rebounds, while Brenton Nicholson scored 14 points.

Chestatee (12-5, 3-3 Region 7-4A) will host Denmark on Friday.

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 91, OGLETHORPE 42: Carl Cleveland scored 29 points, adding eight rebounds, seven assists, three steals and a pair of blocks to lead the Leopards to the win. 

Pierce Martin scored 20 for Banks County (9-7, 4-1 Region 8-2A) in the win. The Leopards hit on 15 3-pointers in the victory, hitting nine in the third quarter alone.

Banks County will play next on the road at Union County on Tuesday.
