High school basketball: Chestatee latest to fill void in coaching staff

Chestatee High School has selected Josh Travis as its next boys basketball coach, according to an official statement from War Eagles athletic director Ben Corley. He replaces Kevin Strickland, who accepted a position in another school district.

“Coach Travis brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Chestatee basketball,” Corley said. “He is a high-character, high-energy individual who will help our student-athletes become better men and better players. His passion for excellence on and off the court will make him a great addition to our Chestatee family. We are very excited to have him lead our basketball program.”

Previously, Travis was the assistant basketball coach at the University of North Georgia and Reinhardt College.
