High school baseball scoreboard: Gainesville tops Flowery Branch, 6-2

Jared Smith and Collier Scott each drove in a pair of runs for the Gainesville baseball team in a 6-2 win against Flowery Branch on Tuesday. 

Banks Griffith and Jackson Kemp each connected on a pair of hits for the Red Elephants. Cameron Wilson also scored twice for Gainesville. 

Scott threw five innings of one-hit ball for the Red Elephants with seven strikeouts and just two walks. Griffith threw two innings of relief for Gainesville. 

NORTH HALL 3, GEORGE WALTON ACADEMY 1: Georgia Tech signee Reese Olson threw five innings of hitless ball for the Trojans then gave way to Charlie Erickson, who threw two innings without allowing a hit. 

On Saturday, North Hall hosts West Hall in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. at Jody Davis Field.

WEST HALL WINS DOUBLEHEADER: Carter Lott racked up five RBIs in the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader, leading West Hall to wins of 15-1 and 10-0 against Johnson. 

Gabe Allison had three RBIs for the Spartans, while teammates Jeffery Jenkins and Clayton Jenkins had two RBIs apiece. Dylan Simpson finished Game 1 with an RBI for West Hall. Allison posted two RBIs in West Hall’s Game 2 win, and Peyton Randozzo also contributed two RBIs for the Spartans.
