Gwinnett's Resop throws 1-hitter in win

Chris Resop had his best outing of the season, striking out eight batters while allowing only 1 hit to lead the Gwinnett Braves to a 4-1 win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Saturday night at Coolray Field.

After having no extra-base hits the previous night, Gwinnett’s offense had four doubles by Gregor Blanco (1-for-4), Resop (1-for-2), Joe Thurston (1-for-4), and Barbaro Canizares (1-for-1) and a triple (Freddie Freeman(2-for-4)). Blanco also had two RBIs for Gwinnett (17-18).

Gwinnett faces off against Lehigh Valley in game three of a four-game series at 2:05 p.m. today at Coolray Field.
