Gwinnett falls to Scranton in series finale

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees defeated the Gwinnett Braves 8-2 in the series finale on Sunday at Gwinnett Stadium.

Scranton improves to 38-25 while Gwinnett drops to 34-30 on the season.

Scranton starter Sergio Mitre allowed just two earned runs in seven innings to earn his first win of the season. He is now 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA.

Gwinnett starter Todd Redmond allowed seven earned runs in four innings and was charged with his fifth loss of the season. Redmond is now 3-5 with a 4.88 ERA.

Gwinnett hits the road for an eight-game road trip starting today with four games at Indianapolis and four at Louisville.

The team returns home on June 23 for a four-game series against Buffalo.
