Youth golf: Gainesville's Hudson Justus wins Georgia qualifier for Notah Begay Junior National Championship

Gainesville’s Hudson Justus won the Georgia Regional qualifier for the Notah Begay Junior Golf National Championship, carding rounds of 71 and 69 on July 3 at the University of Georgia Course in Athens. 

Out of the field of six players, the Mount Vernon Elementary student is one of four who are ranked in the US Kids Top 20 in the world. 

With the win, the 10-year-old Justus advances to play in the championship, starting Nov. 7 at Koasati Pines at Coushatta in Kinder, Louisiana. 

Recently, Justus was named Boys Co-Player of the Year for 2020-2021 for US Kids Golf.
