Golden Tigers tennis team makes national quarterfinals

The tenth-ranked Brenau Golden Tigers tennis team upset No. 7 Azusa Pacific, CA 5-2 on Wednesday at the NAIA National Tennis Championships in Mobile, AL to move into the quarterfinals for the first time since 2006.

The Tigers will square off against No. 2 Fresno Pacific, which advanced by virtue of a 5-1 win over Bethel, TN on Wednesday.

Brenau won two of the three doubles matches, and then finished the match off by capturing three of the first four singles matchups.

Coach Gordon Leslie called it "one of our best performances since I have been here," and says the team has lots of confidence going into the Elite Eight.
