Georgia Tech third baseman Matt Skole was named to the 2009 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team on Wednesday by Collegiate Baseball.

Skole started all 58 games at third base and concluded the 2009 season one home run shy of tying the Tech record for a freshman. He belted 17 home runs in his first season on the Flats while batting .302 with 13 doubles and 58 RBI.

Skole ended the 2009 season by hitting safely in all five games of the NCAA Atlanta Regional.

He also belted two home runs and had two doubles and eight RBI in his first postseason.
