Tight end Orson Charles of Plant High School in Tampa, Fla. signed a letter of intent with the University of Georgia on Friday.

Charles, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound prospect, recorded 75 receptions for 1,440 yards and 21 touchdowns during his senior year at Plant, including six catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns in the Class AAAA State Championship game.

Charles earned numerous honors during his high school career, including PrepStar Top 100 Dream Team, SuperPrep Elite 50, Atlanta Journal-Constitution Super Southern 100 and Class AAAA Florida Sports Writers Association All-State.

He was a high school teammate of fellow Georgia signee quarterback Aaron Murray.
