University of Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno was selected to the American Football Coaches Association All-American Team on Thursday.
The AFCA has selected an All-American team since 1945 and is chosen exclusively by the coaches themselves. 11 players on each side of the ball are selected each year.
Moreno, a 5-11, 208-pound sophomore has rushed for 1,338 yards in 12 games for nearly six yards per carry, making him only the second Bulldog to rush for more than 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons, with Hershel Walker being the first.
Moreno currently leads the SEC in scoring with 102 points and 111.5 yards per game. He is seventh all-time on the Bulldogs’ rushing leaders with 2,672 yards.
