GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida safety Major Wright had surgery to repair a broken thumb Monday, but coach Urban Meyer said the freshman could play against No. 20 Georgia.

Backup receiver Riley Cooper also had surgery Monday to repair a broken finger.

"The positive about those two guys is there’s not two tougher players that I’ve been around," Meyer said.

Wright injured his thumb Saturday at Kentucky. He had a plate inserted during surgery and will wear a cast for at least a few weeks.

Cooper, who has six catches for 161 yards and three touchdowns this season, had two screws put into his finger.

He broke it on the second play of the game Saturday and will have it taped to another finger for the time being.

Also, Meyer said offensive tackle Carlton Medder (heel) is questionable against Georgia. And defensive tackle Brandon Antwine is unavailable to practice or play because of a lower back injury.
