Longtime Athens and Georgia radio personality Scott Howard and former Bulldog All-America quarterback Eric Zeier have been named the permanent broadcast team for Georgia football according to an announcement Friday by Georgia athletics director Damon Evans.

Howard and Zeier teamed up the last two years as the broadcast team on Georgia away games and took over for home games as well, following the retirement of legendary Bulldog broadcaster Larry Munson early in the 2008 football season.

"This is a proven broadcast team," said Evans. "Scott is a Bulldog calling Georgia Bulldog games. He¹s been one of our radio personalities going on 20 years and has done an exceptional job with all the Bulldog sports he has broadcast over a long period of time. Eric gives us not only a former Bulldog player but the special analysis that a former quarterback can bring to the table."

The voice of Scott Howard has become synonymous with Georgia sports and in particular football and basketball. As sports director for Athens radio stations WNGC and WGAU, he served as color analyst with Munson on football broadcasts from 1993-2008, and has handled the Georgia men¹s basketball play-by-play since 1997. A 1984 Georgia graduate, he also did Georgia baseball play-by-play from 1990-96.

0ne of Georgia's greatest quarterbacks in history, Zeier held 67 school passing records and 18 SEC marks by the end of his career in 1994. He played in the NFL from 1996-2001 with the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, Tamps Bay Bucs, and Atlanta Falcons.
