University of Georgia senior guard Gerald Robinson Jr. was named as the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, according to an announcement on Monday by the league office in Birmingham.
Robinson played a key role last week scoring career-high 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field in a 81-59 win against Arkansas.
On Saturday against No. 20 Mississippi State, Robinson had a driving, reverse layup with 28 seconds left that tied the score at 59 and sent the contest into overtime. He then dominated the extra period with eight of Georgia’s 11 points, lifting the Bulldogs to a 70-68 win.
Georgia (12-12, 3-7) visits the University of South Carolina at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Columbia, S.C.
