Georgia's Houts named SEC Player of the Week

University of Georgia’s Ashley Houts was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week by the league office on Monday.

Houts averaged 20 points in two games last week, including a game-high 26 against Kentucky. She played all 40 minutes in both games, making 52 percent of her field goals and 83.3 percent of her free throws.

Houts also moved up to sixth in Lady Bulldog history with 426 assists, No. 29 in scoring with 1,059 and ninth in free throws made with 317.

The honor is Houts’ second of the season after being named Player of the Week on Dec. 1.

Georgia opens the SEC Tournament at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
