Georgia earns at-large bid in NIT
Bulldogs will face Vermont on Tuesday

ATLANTA — Georgia and Georgia State have been selected to the NIT field.

Georgia, a No. 2 seed, will play a home game against Vermont on Wednesday night.

Georgia (19-13) will make its second postseason appearance in five seasons with coach Mark Fox. The Bulldogs lost to Washington in the 2011 NCAA tournament.

Georgia lost to Kentucky, 70-58, in the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament on Saturday.
The Bulldogs were placed in the Florida State regional. It will be Georgia's first NIT appearance since 2007.

Georgia State (25-7), a No. 6 seed, will play at Clemson on Tuesday night in the St. John's regional. Georgia State lost to Louisiana-Lafayette 82-81 in overtime in the Sun Belt Conference championship game on Sunday, costing the Panthers a spot in the NCAA tournament.
