The Gainesville Parks and Recreation 10- and 11-year-old All-Stars won the District 10 tournament with a 4-3 win against Athens on Friday in Athens. With the win, Gainesville advances to the state tournament beginning July 12 at Murphy-Candler Park in DeKalb County. Gainesville finished the district tournament with a 4-0 record.

Reeves Ralston earned the win for Gainesville with four innings pitched and only one earned run allowed. Mikey Gonzalez earned the save.

Luke Maddox was the leading hitter for Gainesville during the district tourney with an .800 batting average. Sam Carpenter also won two games for Gainesville.
