G-Braves rout Charlotte, 19-3

Alvin Colina smashed a home run, a double and recorded five RBIs in Gwinnett’s 19-3 rout of the Charlotte Knights on Saturday in Charlotte.

J.C. Holt added to the offensive barrage by going 3-for-6 with a double, four runs scored and four RBIs. Barbaro Canizares continued his hot start to the season with a 3-for-6 day at the plate with two double and four RBIs.

Braves’ starter James Parr pitched 4 1/3 innings and surrendered six hits and two runs while striking out four. Francisley Bueno picked up the win, pitching 2 2/3 innings and striking out two.

A day after falling 5-3 to the Knights, the Braves exploded for six runs in the fourth inning and four runs in the third and fifth innings.

The series finale is at 2:15 p.m. today.
