Angel Pagan’s triple with two on and two outs in the bottom of the 11th inning helped the Buffalo Bisons to a dramatic 4-3 win over the Gwinnett Braves on Tuesday in Buffalo.
The G-Braves took a two run lead in the top of the 11th as Barbaro Canizares singled to left to score Gregor Blanco. The ball then got past left fielder Fernando Martinez, enabling Brandon Jones to score from first, giving the Braves a 3-1 lead.
But in the bottom of the 11th, with two outs and no one on, Braves reliever Luis Valdez walked Bisons’ catcher Robinson Cancel and gave up a single to Argenis Reyes to left. Pinch hitter Jason Cooper hit a ground ball to Wes Timmons at first. Valdez, covering first on the play, dropped the ball, enabling Cancel to score, cutting the Braves’ lead to 3-2. Then Pagan followed with the hit that just got by the diving efforts of Gregor Blanco.
