G-Braves held scoreless

The Durham Bulls defeated the Gwinnett Braves 1-0 Tuesday at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Bulls improve their South Division leading record to 5-0 while the Braves fall to 3-3. Gwinnett is now 2 « games behind the Bulls in the International League South standings.

The Braves have now gone 23 consecutive innings without a run. They only strung together four hits on the night and did not get a runner past second base.

The only run of the game came on an RBI double by Durham shortstop Reid Brignac off Tommy Hanson in the bottom of the third. The hit plated Jon Weber who had singled to lead off the inning and moved to second on a wild pitch.

For Gwinnett, Hanson suffered his first loss of the season. He worked 5 À innings giving up three hits and one run, while walking two and striking out seven.

LHP Jason Cromer gets the win in his first start of the season working five scoreless innings. Chad Orvella pitched a scoreless sixth and seventh. Winston Abreu worked the final two innings to record his first save of the season.
