LAWRENCEVILLE — Kris Medlen pitched 6 2/3 innings of scoreless ball to lead the Gwinnett Braves to a 4-0 win over the Durham Bulls on Monday at Gwinnett Stadium.
The G-Braves (15-17) gave Medlen some early run support with two runs in the first inning. Those runs came via a sacrifice fly by Van Pope and an RBI infield single by J.C. Holt.
With Medlen shutting down the Bulls (18-13), the G-Braves offense provided some breathing room in the bottom of the third on an RBI single by Brandon Jones that scored Diory Hernandez.
Gwinnett tacked on an insurance run in the seventh on an RBI single from Brooks Conrad that scored Wes Timmons.
Gwinnett visits Buffalo at 7:05 tonight.
