The Gwinnett Braves defeated the Pawtucket Red Sox 11-2 on Sunday afternoon at Coolray Field. The G-Braves scored their highest amount of runs in a game this season, as every G-Brave in the lineup except for center fielder Gregor Blanco and designated hitter Matt Young had at least one RBI.
Braves third baseman Wes Timmons tied the team-high for hits in a game this season with four. With the win, Gwinnett is over .500 for the first time since April 10.
Gwinnett (13-12) sits in second place in the International League South and two games behind Durham. Pawtucket (9-15) remains in last place in the IL North.
Left fielder Mitch Jones and first baseman Barbaro Canizares recorded an RBI each in the first inning for the G-Braves.
The Red Sox never had the lead. At least one run was scored in every inning but the fourth and the eighth.
Gwinnett starter Tim Gustafson (2-1) and allowed two runs over five innings.
