High school football: Two players from Hall County earn high honors in Region 8-4A

With the release of the All-Region football team in Region 8-4A, two players from Hall County were honored for their superior senior season. 

Chestatee’s Jeronimo Marin (102 tackles, 11 sacks) was tabbed Defensive Player of the Year, while Flowery Branch quarterback David Renard (1,558 passing yards, 16 touchdowns) earned Offensive Player of the Year. 

Also from Chestatee named to All-Region were quarterback Luke Bornhorst (2,034 yards, 20 touchdowns), wide receiver Hunter Fouche (40 catches, 755 yards) and defensive back Drew Knickel (101 tackles) 

From Flowery Branch, wide receivers Jaheim Hayes (31 catches, 439 yards) and Seth Larson (37 catches, 495 yards), defensive back Tre Augustine (67 tackles, six tackles for a loss), defensive lineman Sam Westbrook (38 tackles, seven sacks) and offensive lineman Shaun Hockley were also tabled All-Region selections. 

For East Hall, quarterback Clete Cooper (1,960 yards passing) and wide receiver Darius Holcomb (57 catches, 766 yards) were named All-Region in 8-4A.
