Five Saints named to Peach Belt All-Conference team

Five North Georgia College & State University baseball players were named to the Peach Belt Conference 32-member All-Conference roster, released on Thursday.

Leading the way was first-teamer Chris Rearick who was named Pitcher of the Year. Rearick led the conference in strikeouts (95) and was one of three pitchers with an earned run average under three (2.96). A senior, Rearick is 9-2 this season heading into this weekend’s conference tournament and is the first North Georgia pitcher to be named Pitcher of the Year.

Third baseman Jordan Erisman from North Georgia was also named to the first team.

Three players were named to the second team, including outfielder Chad Sage, a Chestatee High graduate, Andrew Airich (second base) and Blake Hobby (pitcher).

The Saints will return to action at 11 a.m. Saturday when they take on Flagler College at Lake Olmstead Stadium in Augusta for the first round of the tournament.
