Pair of IronDawgs break records, win titles

Members of local powerlifting team the Georgia IronDawgs, Joey Murphy of Mount Airy and R. Garry Glenn of Oakwood won state titles and eclipsed their own world records on Saturday at the Southern Powerlifting Federation Georgia State Championships in Buford. Lifting in the Master’s Men’s 40-44-year-old, 259-pound equipped class, Murphy bench pressed 700 pounds, breaking the record in his own class as well as the men’s open division mark. Lifting in the MM 55-59-year-old, 198-pound raw class, Glenn benched 335 pounds, breaking the previous record by five pounds.
