Defending Champion Derek Watson played his way to a 4-under 68 for a share of first place with Greg Edwards on the opening day of the Chicopee Woods Championship on Saturday at the Chicopee Woods Golf Course. Luke James reached the halfway point one stroke back with a 3-under 69. Dave Smigelski, Walter Hope and John Parks are tied for fourth, with each shooting an even par 72.
