Local golf results: Gene Weschler takes first at Chattahoochee Golf Course

The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played its monthly individual flighted strokes competition Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

In the white tee flight Gene Weschler won first place. Leroy Harper came in second place. Eddie Johnson finished in third place.

Don Gage won the gold tee first flight. Following Gage were Butch Teston in second place and Bill Ingram in third place.

Bob Watson took first place in the gold tee second flight. Jimmy Johnson won second place and Rolf Legbandt won third place.

Closest to the pin winners were Jere Cochran (No. 3), Don Wells (No. 5 and 17), and Gage on (No. 12).

CLGA: The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played an individual flighted low gross, low net event on Tuesday.

In flight one, first-place low gross, Mona White won first place and Ann Hollobaugh finished second. Sue Cronmiller took first-place low net; coming in second was Ann White.

In flight two, Johann Stone won first-place low gross. Nancy Negley finished in second place. Jeanne Tompkins won first-place low net. Ruth Pierce came in second place.

Closest to the pin winners were Sally Woo (No. 3) and Jeanne Tompkins (No.17).

Dogfight: The Wednesday Dogfight Group played at Chicopee Woods this week.

Teams played a three best ball net competition. Jerry Horton, Tommy Calhoun, Ken Dooley, Lou Vega shot 22-under par and won first place.

Greg Lee, Roger Stapp, Trey Venable, Chad Davis shot 19-under par and finished in second place.

Individual results were also kept. Dooley shot a 64 to take first place. In second was Trey Veneble with a 65.

DPG: The Dedicated Players Group played on Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week at Chicopee Woods.

Monday, Denis Jordan, Horace Smallwood and James Roberts placed first. Steve Knowles, Terrence Dale and Martha Shell came in second.

Jordan and Dwight Miller tied for first place on Wednesday with Bob Kidd placing on second. Billy Corbin and Steve Knowles tied for third Wednesday.

Friday, Smallwood, Bill Ingram and Kidd tied for first place. Knowles placed second place.
