Local golf: Prather, Negley won at Chattahoochee Ladies outing

The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low-net, blind-partner event on Thursday Chattahoochee Golf Course. The team of Susan Prather and Nancy Negley finished in first place, Peggy Hall and Ann Hollobaugh came in second, and Beulah Land and Carolyn Palmer were third. Closest to the pin winners were Prather (No. 3), and Mona White (No. 17).

LUNA’S TUESDAY: The Luna’s Tuesday golf group played at Royal Lakes Golf Course this week. First place went to the team of Tom Sexton, Jerry Johns, Joe Roberts, and Randy Gordy. Gene Weschler, Blake Nix, Johnny Nix, and Cleve Brown came in second, and Royce Deaton, Stan Davidson Jr, Nelson Wright, and Frank House finished in third place.

Closest to the pin winners were Sexton (No. 4), Johns (No. 8), Gordy (No. 14), and Deaton (No. 16).

DPG: The Dedicated Players Group played matches on Wednesday and Friday this week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. Dwight Miller finished in first place on Wednesday, and Bob Kidd came in second. Doug Padgett, Steve Knowles, Terrence Dale, and Jim Julian tied for third. On Friday, Dennis Jones finished in first place, Dwight Miller came in second, and Steve Knowles was third.

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a two-best-ball, aggregated net points game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

The teams of Bob Pyne, Dick Bachman, Dave Long, and Denny Momper and Johnny Little, Bill Kinser, Butch Teston, and J.B. Johnston tied for first place. Paul Payne, Eddie Johnson, Don Wells, and Jim Griffin came in third, and Doug Glidden, Bud Clegg, Don Gage, and Wayne Nelson finished fourth.

Fifth place was a tie between the teams of Ed Pledger, Herb Sckerl, John Beem and Stan Davidson, Jr., Rolf Legbandt, Clay Bartlett, Roy Bartlett and Gene Weschler, and Bob Henderson, Chuck Keith, Richard McClure and Larry Jewett. Closest to the pin winners were Weschler (No. 3), Johnston (No. 12), and Pledger (No. 5 and No. 17).
