Walter Hope shot a 4-under-par 140 to win his second consecutive Senior City Championship by one stroke over Jim Foote on Saturday at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville.
Joe Ingram finished just behind with an even par 144.
A total of 43 players competed in four different flights determined by age/handicap.
In the gold flight B division, Don Gage (159) finished first and Larry Smith (167) came in second. In the net division Paul Payne (135) won in a playoff over Larry Smith. Frederick Reed (139) finished just behind.
In the gold flight A division, Lamar Lea (148) was the overall winner with Guy Sherohman (156) in second. The net division winner was Jack Kenney at 134, with Roy Bartlett (137) in second.
The championship B flight overall winner was Scott Holcomb (154), with Tom Halstead (157) in second. Bob Norton won the net division, scoring a two day total of 137, ahead of Bill Hardman (143).
Jim Foote won a playoff with Roger Stapp and Joe Roberts to determine the Championship Flight net winner. Roberts finished second.
CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played its monthly individual flighted strokes competition last Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.
Gene Weschler won the white flight, Jack Costello came in second, and Eddie Johnson was third.
In the gold first flight, Herb Sckerl finished in first place, Bill Collier took second, and Joe Kolesar and Buddy Reeves tied for third.
Bob Henderson took first place in the gold second flight and Bob Pyne was second. Nick Grillo and Don Sorrell tied for third. In the gold third flight, Roger Miller finished in first place and Roy Lyle came in second. Johnny Little, Ken Uyl and Jimmy Johnson all tied for third place.
Closest to the pin winners were Harry Barnett (No. 3), Little (No. 5), Bill Holleman (No. 7), Carlyle Cox (No. 12) and Weschler (No. 17).
DPG: The Dedicated Players Group played matches on Monday, Wednesday and Friday last week at Chicopee Woods Gold Course.
Jerry Horton finished in first place on Monday, Charley Kilby was second and Steve Knowles was third. Terrence Dale took first place on Wednesday, and Dewey Alverson and Dave Jetter tied for second place. Dale finished in first place again on Friday, Dwight Miller came in second and Doug Padgett was third.
