Local golf: Hollobaugh claims first in CLGA event

Ann Hollobaugh took first place in the low gross division and Mona White and Carolyn Palmer tied for second in the Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association’s blind six event on Tuesday.

Sue Cronmiller took first in the low net, while Paula Pilgrim took second.

In the second flight, Beulah Land took first place in the low gross, while Nora Gleason finished in second place. Kristen Coleman took first place in the low net and Martha Shell finished second. Hollobaugh was closest to the pin on Nos. 3 and 17.

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played an individual flighted points game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course. Eddie Johnson and Billy Shrader tied for first place in the White Tee flight, Butch Teston came in third, and Jack Costello and Larry Cohan tied for fourth.

Jere Cochran finished in first place in the Gold Tee first flight, Bill Ingram, Ed Pledger and Don Gage tied for second, and Clay Bartlett came in fifth.

In the Gold Tee second flight, Jim Hollobaugh and Gary Palmer tied for first place, and Denny Momper came in third.

Bob Pyne, Bill Falls, Harry Barnett, and Jimmy Johnson all tied for fourth. Jim Griffin finished in first place in the Gold Tee third flight, Jim Hesser came in second, and Wayne Nelson, Bob Layne, and Dave Gleason tied for third. Closest to the pin winners were Gage (No. 3), Gene Weschler (No. 5), Johnson (No. 12), and Gleason (No. 17).

DPG: Horace Smallwood finished first for the Dedicated Players Group in its Monday event at Chicopee Woods. Dave Jetter finished second and Billy Corbin took third. On Wednesday, Dwight Miller placed first, and Jetter and Smallwood tied for second. On Friday, Norm Phillips finished first, Steve Knowles earned second and Terrence Dale placed third.
