Local golf: Chattahoochee Ladies play par-4 contest

The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a par 4 counts low net event on Tuesday. The first flight winner was Martha Shell with Carolyn Palmer coming in second place.

The second flight winner was Anne Toopes with Kirsten Coleman coming in second place. Closest to the pin winners were Beulah Land (No. 3) and Ann Hollobaugh (No. 17).

WEDNESDAY DOGFIGHT GROUP: The Wednesday Dogfights played Stableford scoring at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. The A Flight winner was a tie between Charlie Kilby and Ron Melin with +7 individual points. Henry Komoto was third with +5 points. The B Flight winner was Jeff Lee with +5 individual points. Roy Smith was second with +4 points. Bob Rinfret finished in third place with +3 points.

LUNA’S TUESDAY GROUP: The Luna’s Tuesday Group played at Chattahoochee this week. First place was the team of Stan Davidson, Tom Sexton, Tommy Lowery and Ken Chahoy. In second place was the team of Gene Weschler, Richard Strickland, Karl Steigele and Doug Van.

Third place went to the team of Daryl Dunckel, Joe Roberts, Cleve Brown and Gene Cobb. Closest to the pin winners were Brown (No. 3), Weschler (No. 5), Strickland (No. 12) and Chahoy (No. 17).

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a Red, White and Blue Scramble this week in preparation for Independence Day.

First place went to the team of Charlie Chamberlin, Ed Pledger, Bill Kinser and Doug Hutson. Second place went to the team of Tom Sexton, Bob Pyne, Denny Momper and Parvis Khosravi. Third place was the team of Paul Payne, Jim King, Joe Karwoski and Jim Carroll.

Finishing fourth was the team of Joe Roberts, Bryan Bell, Carlyle Cox and Bruce Doll. Closest to the pin winners were Jack Costello (No. 3), Carroll (No. 5), Chamberlin (No. 12) and Richard McClure (No. 17).
