Tommy Calhoun had a hole-in-one Wednesday on No. 4 at the Village Course at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. He used a TaylorMade 6 iron from 154 yards away, which was witnessed by Terry Clegg and Don Schrum.
The Wednesday Dog Fight held a two-best-ball net game at Chicopee Woods.
Taking first place were Dave Sellers, Billy Peters, and Touk Varney with a 20-under par. Geoff Archibald, Joe Roberts, and Jerry Horton finished second at 15 under par.
One stroke back at 14 under par was the third place team of Phil Tiemann, Chris Jones, and Lou Vega.
Billy Peters took first individually with a 64. Chris Jones shot a 65 to for second place, and Jerry Horton shot a 69 for third.
DPG: The DPG played on July 5, 6, and 8 at Chicopee Woods.
On July 5, Denis Jordan won first place, followed by Steve Knowles and Jerry Shell in second and third places, respectively.
On July 6, Dwight Miller took first. Billy Corbin came in second place, ahead of Norm Phillips in third place.
Phillips finished first in the final event of the week on July 8. Miller finished second and Jerry Pearson came in third.
The DPG also played matches this week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at Chicopee Woods. On Monday, Pearson finished first, while Jordan and Martha Shell tied for second.
On Wednesday, Dennis Jones came in first place followed in second place by Doug Padgett.
On Friday, Horace Smallwood took first place and Dwight Miller finished second.
CMGA: The CMGA played a two best ball, aggregated net points game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.
In first place was the team of Don Gage, Bill Sutton, A J Kiker and Bob Layne. Jere Cochran, Roger Miller, Johnny Little and Bill Hardman came in second, and the team of Stan Davidson, Jr., Don Wells, Stu Virgin and Jim Hesser claimed third place.
Closest to the pin winners were Chuck Keith (No. 3), Dave Gleason (No. 5), Davidson (No. 12), and Denny Momper (No. 17).
CLGA: The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played an individual low-gross, low-net event on July 12 at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.
Ann Hollobaugh took first place in low gross, and Sue Cronmiller took second. Paula Pilgrim took first place in low net, and Nora Gleason finished second.
Closest to the pin winners were Beulah Land (No. 3) and Sue Cronmiller (No. 17).
