Gainesville’s Tim Moon won the bench press national title with a lift on his first attempt at 727.525 pounds in the World United Amateur Powerlifting-USA National Powerlifting Meet on Sunday in Peoria, Illinois. The 52-year-old, who weighed in at 280 pounds, also earned best lifter trophy and heaviest lift in the meet honors. On July 9, Moon will lift in the American Powerlifting Committee meet at the Jefferson Civic Center.
