Bill Sutton, Jere Cochran, Herb Sckerl and Johnny Little teamed up to take first place Wednesday as the Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a three best-ball, net-strokes game at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Second place went to the team of Eddie Johnson, Joe Roberts, Don Gage and Gene Weschler, with Bob Henderson, John T. Smith and Dick Bachman placing third.

Closest to the pin winners were Carlyle Cox on No. 3, Cochran on No. 4, Bob Pyne on No. 12 and Sutton on No. 17.

LUNA: The Luna’s Tuesday Golf Group played at Chicopee Woods this week. First place went to the team of Stan Davidson Jr., Jimmy Harritos, Tommy Lowery and Chad Pierce. Second place went to the team of Frank House, D J Campbell, Donnie W. Smith and Joe Campbell. Third place went to the team of Larry Miller, Sam McGee, Nelson Wright and Doug McMahan.

Closest to the pin winners on the School course were Royce Deaton on No. 4 and Gene Weschler on No. 8, and on the Village course were Davidson Jr. on No. 4 and Don Smallwood on No. 7.

DPG: The DPG played matches on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of this week at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

On Monday, the team of Bob Kidd and Horace Smallwood captured first place with a score of +7. Smallwood also took first in the individual match with a score of +5.

Wednesday’s match was won by Charley Kilby with a score of +10. Smallwood came in second with +4 and Dwight Miller took third place with +3.

Friday’s match resulted in a tie for first place between Kilby and Smallwood at -3. Jerry Pearson placed third with a -5.
