COLUMBUS — Buford’s softball team continued its winning ways on Thursday, winning a pair of games to open the Class AAA state softball tournament in Columbus. Top-ranked Buford (35-1) beat Central-Carrollton 3-2 in the first game of the day, before beating Ringgold 10-2 several hours later. With the wins, Buford will face either North Oconee or Pierce County in the winner’s bracket today.
