Young Harris College extended its school-record winning streak to 13 games as they defeated No. 15 West Virginia Wesleyan College 3-1 and Felician College 15-8 on Wednesday in Clermont, Fla.
Against the nationally-ranked Bobcats, Young Harris took a 3-0 lead in the first inning as Brittany Henry, Stacia Williams and Callie Holloway each drove in runs for the Mountain Lions.
Young Harris starter Darby Stanford (8-2) struck out 10 and allowed an unearned run in the second inning in the complete-game effort.
The Mountain Lions (14-6) faces Assumption College at 3 p.m. today in Clermont, Fla.
YOUNG HARRIS 15, FELICIAN COLLEGE 8: The Mountain Lions collected 15 hits in the second game against the Golden Falcons. Paige Sexton, Dominique Sibley, Hunter Sims and Molly Watson each drove in two runs. Sexton, Watson and Tori Dyer led the way with three hits apiece while Sims added two.
Young Harris jumped out to a 9-0 lead after the first three innings. The Mountain Lions scored six times in the second and pushed across three more in the third.
Katie-Jo Gentry (3-4) earned the win with five strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.
