For the first time in program history, the North Georgia College & State University women’s soccer team has been voted into the NSCAA/HendrikCars.Com Division-II Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, announced Tuesday.
The Lady Saints are ranked No. 25 in the nation, are in the midst of an eight-game winning streak and are 9-1 overall on the season.
In the latest NSCAA/HendrickCars.Com Southeast Regional Ranking, North Georgia sits in a tie for fourth place with UNC-Pembroke.
The Lady Saints have also made their presence known in the latest edition of the NCAA national statistics, released Tuesday.
Senior Casey Smith leads the country in total assists with 11, while Samantha Abrahart is 19th in points per game (2.2), 20th in goals per game (0.9), 14th in total goals (9) and 13th in total points (22).
North Georgia is also listed as the No. 12 scoring offense in the country, while sitting in eighth in the win-loss-tie percentage at .900.
Coach Chris Adams and the Lady Saints visit Anderson University at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
