Anna Maness (20-9) struck out 11 and allowed just three hits in a six-inning, 80-pitch shutout to lead Brenau University to an 8-0 win over Talladega (Ala.) on Friday at the NAIA softball national championship in Gulf Shores, Ala. The Golden Tigers improved to 2-0 in Pool A with the win and will face top-ranked Concordia (Calif.) at 6 tonight. Eight different Brenau players recorded a total of 13 hits against Talladega pitcher Jordan Ray (2-9), who allowed six earned runs in six innings of work.
