The Brenau University volleyball team lost to Shorter University 25-18, 25-16, 25-17 on Friday in Gainesville. Melissa Thornton led the Golden Tigers (1-14, 0-2 Southern States Athletic Conference) with nine digs and seven kills. Brenau’s Alexis Arthur had eight digs and seven killls, while Kerry Abernathy added eight digs to go with 10 assists.

Golden Tigers libero Danelle Russell had eight digs and senior Courtney Frady added five kills.
