The Brenau University soccer team lost 5-0 to the University of Mobile on Friday in the opening game of the Capital City Classic.

The Golden Tigers drop to 0-2 on the season after only managing one shot on goal.

Coach Mike Lochstampfor singled out junior captain Tori Futrell of Savannah for her outstanding play in the match.

“She inspired me with her toughness and effort and she just would not let down, even thought we were in a tough situation,” Lochstampfor said.

All-conference goalie Lisa Lesnick came up with 11 saves in the match and transfer Eric Banks came up with the only shot on goal for the Golden Tigers.

Brenau will return to action at 4 p.m. Saturday when they take on conference rival Auburn-Montgomery.
