Brenau University shot out to the lead Friday night in its title defense at the SSAC women’s outdoor track & field championship in Mobile, Ala.

The Golden Tigers placed among the top three in all seven events on the day to accumulate a meet-high 77 points, and own a 49-point lead over Loyola (La.).

Aubrey Fearnow earned an individual title in the shot put with a mark of 11.15 meters, helping Brenau total 21 points.
Olamide Sokunbi in the triple jump (12.09 meters), Ayana Daniels in the pole vault (2.58 meters) and the 4x800 meter relay team (9:40.32) added individual titles for the Golden Tigers.

Brenau also had a pair of runner-up finishes from Fearnow in the javelin (32.22 meters) and Anita Button in the pole vault (2.43 meters).
