Buford High graduate Lawson McGlon connected on a 42-yard field goal during South Alabama’s inaugural spring game Saturday at Ladd-Peeples Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

McGlon was the senior kicker on the 2007 Buford team that went 15-0 and won the Class AA state title.

An estimated 8,000 people attended the school’s first spring game. The Jaguars have seven games scheduled for their first season of football and will open the year against Hargrave (Va.) Military Academy on Sept. 5.
