Brackets unveiled for next week's Lanierland tournament

The annual Lanierland Tournament will return next week for its 58th edition.

Area boys and girls high school basketball teams will vie for the title of Hall County’s best during the three-day tournament, which begins Dec. 28 at Lakeview Academy before heading to Flowery Branch High for the semifinal and championship rounds. 

The Lakeview Academy and North Hall girls teams will open Lanierland at 9 a.m., with the three remaining girls games beginning in intervals of three hours. East Hall takes on Gainesville at noon, Chestatee faces West Hall at 3 p.m. and reigning Lanierland champion Flowery Branch will go against Johnson in the final girls game at 6 p.m.

The boys bracket starts with Flowery Branch and North Hall at 10:30 a.m., followed by a contest between Chestatee and Lakeview Academy at 1:30 p.m. East Hall and West Hall will clash at 4:30 p.m. before defending tournament champ Gainesville closes the first day against Johnson at 7:30 p.m.

Championship games will be at 6 p.m. (girls) and 7:30 p.m. (boys) Dec. 30.
