Cherokee Bluff moves on with second-round upset of Greater Atlanta Christian

Cherokee Bluff scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning as it pulled the 4-1 upset of Greater Atlanta Christian in the deciding third game of the second-round playoff series Thursday in Norcross. Tyler Zawacki threw six efficient innings for the Bears, allowing one hit and one run and five strikeouts. 

Clay Tyas came on in relief and threw an inning and allowed a hit to earn the save. 

With the win, Cherokee Bluff advances to the state quarterfinals for the first time in school history to face Appling County, starting with a doubleheader in another best-of-three series on Monday in Baxley.
