ATLANTA — The Atlanta Thrashers have named former Rochester Americans head coach Randy Cunneyworth and former Chicago Wolves assistant Todd Nelson as assistants under new head coach John Anderson.

General manager Don Waddell said Thursday that assistant coach Steve Weeks and video coach Tony Borgford will remain with the team in their current jobs.

The 47-year-old Cunneyworth, who spent 16 seasons playing in the NHL, just finished his eighth season at the helm in Rochester, where he had a 306-267-67 record.

The 39-year-old Nelson spent the past two seasons under Anderson with the Wolves, who won the 2008 Calder Cup. Nelson played 12 seasons of professional hockey, including stints with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals.
