Center Erick Dampier, who has been with Atlanta on a pair of 10-day contracts, has signed with the Hawks for the remainder of the season.
The Hawks initially signed the 15-year veteran Feb. 9 when the team was short-handed at center following injuries to Al Horford and Jason Collins.
Horford, an All-Star last season, tore his left pectoral muscle in January and may miss the remainder of the regular season. He said Wednesday he has been cleared to begin rehabilitation. Collins sprained his left elbow Feb. 2 and could miss another two weeks.
The 36-year-old Dampier is averaging 1.8 rebounds in 5 minutes per game, playing behind Zaza Pachulia and Ivan Johnson at center.
