FLOWERY BRANCH — The Atlanta Falcons today traded cornerback DeAngelo Hall to the Oakland Raiders for a second round selection in the 2008 NFL Draft and a future fifth round pick in 2009.

Hall competed in 57 games (55 starts) in four seasons with the Falcons and recorded 233 tackles (191 solo), 17 interceptions, 32 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and four touchdowns. He earned back-to-back Pro Bowl selections in 2005 and 2006, and leaves Atlanta ranked tied for ninth on the team’s all-time interceptions list with Tom Hayes (1971-1975).

The trade is the first for the Falcons in 2008 and the first since Allen Rossum was dealt to the Pittsburgh Steelers for an undisclosed draft pick on September 1, 2007.
