Falcons to implement NFL's big bag policy

The Atlanta Falcons will implement the NFL’s new policy limiting the sizes and types of bags that will be allowed into games beginning with next Thursday’s preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals at the Georgia Dome.

The NFL Committee on Stadium Security in May unanimously recommended the implementation of these restrictions to enhance public safety and make it easier for fans to gain access in all stadiums. It was discussed with all clubs at the May League meeting and will be implemented at all NFL stadiums beginning with preseason games.

Fans are encouraged not to bring any type of bags, but will be able to carry bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”, one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags, or small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap, along with one of the clear bag options.

The Falcons and the NFL will make exceptions for medically necessary items after proper inspection at a designated gate.

Prohibited items now include, but are not limited to: Purses larger than a clutch bag, diaper bags, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, luggage of any kind, seat cushions, computer bags and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.
